After iPhones and BlackBerries, the smartphone messenger application WhatsApp is now available on Symbian S60 3rd and 5th edition smartphones. WhatsApp Messenger, the smartphone messaging app allows you to exchange messages with your friends and contacts without having to pay for SMS.
In order to send and receive messages, WhatsApp utilizes your existing smartphone internet data plan: 3G/EDGE or WiFi. In addition to messaging, WhatsApp Messenger users can send each other unlimited images, video and audio media messages.
WhatsApp on Symbian is currently in Beta. The application works with Symbian S60 5th edition mobiles: Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition, Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, Nokia 5230, Nokia 5233, Nokia N97, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia X6, Nokia C6, Samsung i8910 Omnia HD, Sony Ericsson Satio, Sony Ericsson Vivaz, Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro and Nokia N8.
The application also works on Symbian S60 3rd edition mobiles: Nokia E71, Nokia E72, Nokia E63, Nokia N95, Nokia N81, etc.
