That didn’t take long at all. Though, it’s not surprising, considering the hard work and dedication showcased every day by the Android developer community. And considering the Droid 2 is so similar to the Droid X, many were probably just counting down the days before they could get their brand new Droid device rooted. The wait is over, folks.
Thanks to the developers over at XDA, the Motorola Droid 2 has been officially rooted. And only after two weeks of being out in the wild. Unfortunately, this isn’t the easiest process in the world, and you’ll need to take a dive into ADB, put in a lot of commands, and hope for the best. Basically, it’s similar to how the Droid X needed to be rooted in its early stages. But, considering we now have one-touch root method for the X, it will probably come for the Droid 2 soon enough. You can go through the whole process if you want, but remember to follow the instructions closely. You can find those through the source link below. And if you go through with it, let us know in the comments how it pans out for you.
