Motorola launches Backflip in India for Rs 22,990

Close on the heels of the Milestone XT720, Motorola today announced the launch of the Backflip in India. Priced at Rs 22,990, the Backflip offers a unique reverse flip design where the QWERTY keyboard forms the base of the phone and flips up when open. The back of the 3.1 inch touchscreen houses a trackpad that can be used to scroll through web pages without the user’s fingers obstructing the view. We first checked out the Backflip at MWC this year and were pretty impressed with its design and overall ergonomics.

We are not sure which version of Android the Backflip runs on as it was launched on Android 1.5 in January. Update: Motorola has confirmed the Backflip is running on Android 1.5.
