Swisscom Selects Motorola’s Ultra-Broadband VDSL2 Gateways for Advanced Multi-Play Services

Switzerland’s leading telecom provider will use Motorola’s new 7600 Series gateways to deliver advanced services such as high definition video, high-speed data, and digital voice

Zurich, Switzerland – Motorola Mobility announced that Swisscom has chosen to deploy the new Motorola 7600 Series of ultra-broadband VDSL2 gateways to deliver advanced services including high definition (HD) video, high-speed data and voice-over-IP (VoIP) to its subscribers.

“Motorola and Swisscom have been close partners for over eight years, and this latest deployment builds on our strong relationship. This is another validation of Motorola’s leadership position in developing advanced customer premise solutions that enable our service provider customers to offer rich multi-play services,” commented Steve McCaffery, vice president and general manager, Home business EMEA, Motorola Mobility.

The 7600 gateways are based on the latest VDSL2 technology with integrated ADSL2+ fallback, featuring an integrated high-performance network processor and DMT-based VDSL2 modem. Combined with Motorola's embedded firmware, the 7600 series gateways provide the advanced routing, quality of service (QoS), and TR-069 remote management capabilities that allow service providers like Swisscom to monetize their broadband networks while improving efficiency and reducing costs.

The 7647-47 is a combination VDSL2/ADSL2+ gateway designed for homes where multiple services are to be delivered to several users and/or devices. The 7647-47 includes two integrated FXS/voice ports for VoIP support, four 10/100Base-T Ethernet LAN ports, an 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi access point, and a built-in firewall for secure home networking.

The 7640-47 is a combination VDSL2/ADSL2+ gateway designed for single user households. The 7640-47 includes an integrated FXS/voice port for VoIP support, two 10/100Base-T Ethernet LAN ports, and a built-in firewall for secure home networking.
