AT&T and Sony Ericsson unveil the Xperia™ X10, available soon in the U.S. market. The Xperia™ X10 offers an open and integrated world of communication, entertainment and social media.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 features the two exciting signature applications Mediascape and Timescape™. Mediascape gathers music, photos, videos and content from your phone’s memory card and online. You can browse, search, listen and share your media from one unified view. Timescape™ is a unique communication application that automatically organizes social interactions in chronological order, leaving users free to concentrate on keeping in touch on-the-go.
“Sony Ericsson has created a unique choice for our smartphone customers looking for a fun and smart device,” said Michael Woodward, vice president, Mobile Phone Portfolio, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.
For developers, the Xperia™ X10 is a unique and powerful device, with impressive hardware and software features which offer uniquely customized user experience. Developers interested in the Xperia™ X10 can download an add-on for the Android™ SDK, including a splash screen, backgrounds, an Xperia™ X10 skin and more. The Xperia™ X10 will be released in the U.S. market with a customized Android™ 1.6 OS. By targeting Android™1.6 users and developing using Android™ 1.6 API’s, developers will ensure forward compatibility with later versions of Android™. Recent statistics show that approximately 20% of the users accessing Android market are using an Android™ 1.6 device.
