Motorola will introduce new Android-enabled smartphones via telecom carriers China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, according to the US-based handset vendor.
While having launched eight Android-based smartphones and covering the WCDMA, CDMA and TD-SCDMA standards in the Chinese market already, Motorola hopes to strengthen its market position with further cooperation with China's big three.
Motorola and China Mobile will offer the Android-based OPhone 2.0 (TD-SCDMA) MT810. With China Unicom, Motorola will introduce the WCDMA Android-based A1680. For China Telecom, the US vendor has the XT 806 Android 2.1 device. All three smartphones are under the Ming series line, which was quite popular in the past in China.
According to Motorola, it is currently the best-selling brand for Android handsets in China.
