Opera Mobile is on Toshiba’s Android-based “Folio 100”.
Opera Software today announced that its browser has been selected to be preinstalled on Toshiba’s Android-based tablet computer “Folio 100”, which will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa during the fourth quarter of 2010. Users will now have the option to select the browser they want to use, either Opera Mobile or Android’s default browser. The Folio 100 will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa only.
Tablets are attracting a lot of attention all over the world, and the market has become highly competitive. Having high-speed Internet functionality on devices is the key to offering a great user experience. Opera Mobile delivers a full desktop-browsing experience that has been optimized for the device, using the same core architecture as in Opera’s desktop browser.
The two companies worked hard to optimize the UI for the new format with changes to the layout, touch support, screen rotation, etc. “We are going to work continuously with Toshiba to keep improving the browser for tablet users,” says Lars Boilsen, CEO, Opera Software.
